OWLs Home Education Forest School

Owls (Outdoors Without LimitS) are our forest school drop off sessions for home educated children. Our Tuesday morning drop off group is for children  5-11yrs in the Secret garden Fishbourne. Due to demand  we now have our NEW group for 11-15yrs  on Monday afternoons in our private wood at Lavant House 1-3pm

Children are free to explore, build, hide, cook, make or just relax. Our ethos is very much one of child-led learning so there is no pressure to do any of the many activities offered each week, children are free to follow their own learning whilst scaffolded by our experienced  team. The sessions are led by 2 experienced Forest School Leaders who adapt their approach to facilitate each child’s learning.

Children take part in a number of activities including nature activities, bug hunting, stream dipping, mud kitchen, wood craft and use of tools, den building, pulleys and ropes, hammocks and rope swings, fire lighting, camp fire and cooking. Our older group have oportunities to work with more advanced projects or just chill in the hammock or by the fire.

Forest School encourages physical and emotional development and has been shown to build confidence, self esteem, social and emotional skills and a love of nature.

Sessions are run by Level 3 Qualified Forest School Leaders with outdoor first aid, food hygiene and enhanced DBS checks. Chichester Forest Schools CIC is a non-profit community organisation and we are Recognised Providers of long term Forest School programmes endorsed by the Forest School Association.

Booking is for the half-term and payable in advance. Our sessions fill quickly please check our booking page for further information and booking here
